‘Beat of Our Hearts’ Screening at Kresen Kernow

Intercom is delighted to be involved with a screening of the play ‘Beat of Our Hearts’ by Natalie McGrath, which we were privileged to be part of creating during 2021/22, at Kresen Kernow on Thursday 1st August.

The play centres on four characters – Val, Dove, Quill, and Luca – whose sense of community is shaken by the destruction of the pride flag they raised in their quiet seaside town in the southwest. Gathering one evening in a library, they discover an old sepia photograph and together they begin to build their own queer archive. From their initial despair at the play’s outset, The Beat of Our Hearts tells a story of LGBTQIA+ community and belonging; loneliness and isolation; and the quest for queer and trans joy.

This screening is a collaborative event with Queer Kernow and Kresen Kernow, and will be introduced by Andy Hunt, CEO of Intercom Trust.

Doors open at 6pm and film starts at 6.30pm.

Kresen Kernow, Little Vauxhall, Redruth, TR15 1AS.

Refreshments provided. This is a FREE event for all ages.

Kresen Kernow is wheelchair accessible, with lifts to all levels, automatic entrance doors, and accessible toilets.
