AKT supports LGBTQ+ young people aged 16-25 in the UK who are facing or experiencing homelessness or living in a hostile environment.

CONSORTIUM

Consortium are a national specialist infrastructure and membership organisation. They work to build the resource, sustainability and resilience of LGBT+ groups, organisations and projects so that they can deliver direct services and campaign for individual rights. They also hold a national LGBT+ directory on their website.

GALOP

Galop support LGBT+ people who have experienced abuse and violence.

LGBT Foundation

LGBT Foundation are a national LGBT+ charity that started in Greater Manchester. They provide a wide range of services. Advice, support, and information Helpline 0345 3 30 30 30.

Mindline Trans+

Mindline Trans+ are set up specifically to offer emotional support to trans, non-binary and genderfluid people and their families. They are open on Fridays 8pm-11pm on 0300 330 5468.

Switchboard

Switchboard is a national LGBT+ helpline 0800 0119 100. They also have a chat function on their website.

FFLAG

FFLAG is a national charity dedicated to supporting parents and families and their LGBT+ members.
They run a helpline 0300 688 0368.

Proud2Be

Proud2Be is a grassroots user-led social enterprise that supports LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and/or questioning+) people in Devon and beyond, to lead empowered, fulfilled and authentic lives. They host regular in-person and online support groups.

GIRES

GIRES is a charity whose aim is to work to help the trans and gender non-conforming communities including those whose preferred expression is non-binary and non-gender. The charity is operated by volunteers who give their time freely to support those struggling with gender expression.

Stonewall

Stonewall is an LGBTQ+ rights charity who provide advice, support, and publications / research.

MindOut

MindOut is a mental health service run by and for lesbians, gay, bisexual, trans, and queer people. MindOut works to improve the mental health and wellbeing of all LGBTQ communities and to make mental health a community concern.

It Gets Better

It Gets Better is an international movement which envisions a world where all LGBTQ+ youth are free to live equally and know their worthiness and power as individuals.

The Proud Trust

The Proud Trust is an LGBT+ organisation that supports LGBT+ young people through youth groups, peer support, mentoring programs and the Proud Connections chat service.

Schools OUT UK

Schools OUT UK is an education charity with lots of LGBTQ+ resources for all stages

Mermaids

Mermaids is a charity helping gender-diverse kids, young people and their families. We are aware that there is currently a Statutory Inquiry by the Charity Commission, but client services are still being provided. More information can be found here.

Peter Tatchell Foundation

Peter Tatchell Foundation promotes and protects the human rights of individuals, communities and nations, in the UK and internationally. The website also has a directory of resources for LGBT+ inmates.

Over the Rainbow

Over the Rainbow is an NHS Initiative for the local Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual (LGBTQIA+) community in Bournemouth, Weymouth and Dorset.
