LGBT+ Conferences and Consultancy

We work with many organisations to enable community consultation, improve their draft policies and strategies, and, above all, to mainstream equality and fairness for LGBT+ people throughout their service-delivery systems.

We run conferences on a regular basis throughout the South West, which cover a range of specialist subjects such as LGBT+ Hate Crime, Mental Health, and Gender Identity.

Our consultancy work so far has included collaborative working with key partners at Devon County Council, Devon and Cornwall Police, the Crown Prosecution Service at national level, Sanctuary Housing, Devon Strategic Partnership, and the Devon & Cornwall Local Criminal Justice Board. We have also worked closely with Dorset and Cornwall County Councils, Carrick District Council, and many others.

We are always really excited to hear about opportunities to consult with services or organisations, and work collaboratively to ensure equality and inclusivity. Please get in touch by phone or email, and we can explore options together.

Intercom is currently not funded to provide consultancy as part of it's mainstream funded provision for services, so this is a chargeable provision. Please contact us for more details.

Over the last few years we have run a number of highly succesful and very well received conferences throughout the South West.

Our 'Lost in Transition' conferences bring together a wealth of local and national knowledge and expertise, working closely with our partners The Tavistock & Portman Clinic and others to provide the latest information and guidance around the subject of Gender Identity.

Our'LGBT+ Mental Health Matters' conference brought together our collegues from Plymouth University Psychology Department and our grassroots partnerships with local community groups, to explore the impact of mental health issues on LGBT+ people.

This is just an example of the range of conferences we have held. To find out more abour forthcoming conferences, keep an eye the main page of our website.

Our conferences are recognised and validated by The CPD Certification Service. So people who attend our conferences will receive an accredited Continuing Professional Development certificate and will be able to evidence their learning with the points awarded.
