Simon has been a Trustee of The Intercom Trust since 2018 and Chair of Trustees since 2020. He has a background in policing, including specialising in Major Crime Investigation and in Equality, Diversity, and Human Rights, he has qualifications in managing equality and diversity as well as in delivering training, however he is now a Director of his own property development company. He has had, or has board or management roles with the following organisations; Gay Police Association, Gay Outdoor Club, Cornwall Race Equality Council, Cornwall Equality and Diversity Network, and LGBTQ Youth Cornwall which set up Young and Yourself Cornwall in 2008. YAY groups are now part of Intercom Trust and take place in The Cornwall LGBTQ Community Centre and in Schools across Cornwall. Simon regularly delivers training in schools to young people on LGBT Awareness and at our conferences as well as other training to a variety of audiences including, teachers, police, social workers, doctors on Equality, Diversity & Human Rights, Hate Crimes and Incidents and LGBTQ Awareness. Simon is a regular host of an LGBTQ+ radio show, Rainbow Source on The Source Community Radio Station with his husband, Steve.
