About the Being Out There Project
The Intercom Trust have been funded by the Equality and Human Rights Commission to run a short-term project, right across the whole South West Region, to create a good practice booklet to help the media to cover their stories in an effective partnership with the LGBT communities, and to help our communities to work more effectively with the media.
This is a fantastically interesting project, which promises to be very successful. With the involvement of LGBT people and mainstream and other media we will see very exciting new developments which we, and the EHRC, expect will then go national. (But you saw it here first, folks! And it's South West regional LGBT organisations and individuals, and South West media outlets, whose voices are going to create the new resource, so it's definitely a case of local talent making good!)
